Yu Qilin is an extremely rare traditional cultivar of Wuyi Rock Tea, ranked as the foremost among the ten rarest famous cultivars. Its name derives from the tea tree’s shape, which resembles a qilin (mythical Chinese unicorn). It is grown in core authentic rock tea regions, including Jiulongke in Wuyi Mountain.
The dry leaves are tightly twisted, delicate, and elegant, with a fresh green-brown luster. The liquor is bright orange-yellow. The aroma is dominated by rose fragrance, blended with sweet notes of peach and pear. The flavor is layered, rich, and long-lasting.
